As of today, September 4, 2005, thousands of Black people have been killed by the authorities that turned their backs and went on vacation while disaster hit the gulf coast of this country.

It surprised most of us who have been conscious or even somewhat conscious of our treatment by whites that they would not forget their racism even in times like these. It is so revealing of their character that they have no feelings for human life as long as it is not white.

Down to their vocabulary, "the refugees", "the looters" "the evacuees", "the poor people", they did not stray from their characteristic racism. All media outlets used the same terms. Who told them all to use the same terms?

Leaving the dead is disrespectful and further pollutes the environment. That is just outrageous. And the rescue conditions were horrendous , they are akin to concentration camps. They were like none ever seem before in this country, as though this was acceptable to the people because of who they were and they should be happy (I guess like they try to say we were happy on the plantations compared to where we came from).

I could go on forever about the inadequacies and mis-treatment, but I see a lesson in all this, in fact many lessons. I'd like to hear some of the lessons you see. Please add yours as I add mine.

We can not let this kind of genocide, enslavement and mis-treatment continue!

A Lesson

These lessons are in no order of priority, just documented as they come to me.

It appears that Black people have maintained our humanity regardless of the treatment we have received or the environment we have been put in over the last 3000 years. The last 500 years have been extremely destructive to our people, yet we still stand willing to trust the enemy, help the enemy kill our brothers and sisters all over the world, kill ourselves personally as well as offer up our children to the enemy to do with as they please.

These are unpresidented times and we are an exceptional people. Looking at what has been said, most people would think wow, these people are just plain old stupid. They don't even know when to save themselves. They are like babies.

My take is this, we are different. We really are the model of humanity. In Black people you see a strength that never dies. No matter what we go through, unless we are totally wiped out, we come back strong in our own way. (Not to be compared with white folks material world.) We see a love of life that keeps us going regardless to the circumstances we are under. We see a desire to be non-violent when violence is taught as the way to be.

Yes, it is whites who have put violence at the forefront of everything from movies, music, sports, to domestic life, sex and wars. Black folks are not repsonsible for this. And even though a few Black folks have been influenced by this, the majority of Black folk are not.

The lesson is that Black people must move to create an environment that is conducive to our humanity and original cultural ways of living. Some of us remember the "community", being able to be proud of who you were and where you came from, sharing and caring about each other and knowing that Black was beautiful.

Now the next part of this lesson is that white people have to not only let us do this but provide whatever we need to assist in making it happen. Is that possible?

Well, it is Saturday 9/10 and the families that were the targets of the breaking of the levees are now scattered all over the united states. Sent to places not of their choosing just like our enslaved ancestors. Made to beg for shelter, food, water and clothing; the bare necessities. Put under curfews and not allowed to go into white or so called safe areas.

Because of the media and governments constant characterization that everyone was Black, poor, uncivilized, violent, and thieves many who accept that view showed their despise and racism for our people by hiring private security companies (some foreign) to protect them and their communities from "those dark refugees".

The truth be told, most of the people were working people, families who are poor because white people still continue to discriminate against us in salaries and type of work that they allow us to do. The salary gap is huge between us. The white elitists that continue to run the big businesses and the government only allow a few and I mean a few Black folks to make a little more than the rest so they can use them to say "see the progress you people are making".

My question is "Where are all the good white people"? And I'm not talking about the "savior types", the "do gooders". You know, the ones whose feeling of superiority has zoomed through the roof because they are helping "those poor Black refugees" while thinking what would they have done without us caring white folks?

I'm talking about are there any white people who will finally say "I get it! White people have killed, raped, oppressed, de-humanized and marginalized Black folks for long enough. I'm going to give up my inheritance as a white person so that this can be made right.

"When I say inheritance I mean that every white person rich and poor has a certain gift that they are given at birth. A gift that gives them a lifetime pass to reach the highest rungs of their society. A society built by free slave labor, Black labor. If you are born white and poor, you can pick yourself up at any time and zoom past Black people on the ladders of life. Take a look at all the stories of 'from rags to riches' that white people have.

Why did white people enslave and bring in Black labor? Because Black folks came with skills that white people and other people didn't have. Look into most of the prized buildings all over the world and you will find that Black folks built them not just as laborers but as the architects of them.

Look at science and inventions, knowledge of agriculture, natural healing remedies that work that whites have taken and synthesized that now don't work, look at our culture and language everywhere, the list is so long, our influence is so broad. I could go on forever.

This 2005 re-enslavement of hundreds of thousand of Black people in front of our faces is a crime and must be pursued as what it is. Black people are now at the mercy of the white Red Cross, FEMA, the churches (only white faces as shown onTV) and any other white run organizations white folks can trust to treat us with paternal disrespect.

This should outrage every person who claims to not be racist and definitely must outrage every Black person. Any person who is truly ready to see Black people treated with dignity and honor as the first people on the earth should be treated, must step up to the plate. That means show your desire for change to the world by doing whatever it takes to make that change a reality!

Black people, this is the time you have been waiting for, step up to the plate. Many of our people are dying and being killed while not doing anything to deserve death, our lives are not worth anything to the white ruling people and many who themselves are not ruling but are benefiting from being white.

In fact, we are in their way, so why not stand up for our birthright and I don't mean that curse you've been taught to internalize, I mean the fact that we are the original people and that we have a responsibility to re-claim the earth for the continued life of all things natural to this place. If we don't, everything will have to go so a new cycle of oneness, balance and order can begin.
